Every year it's great to see how cruise lines find ways to be innovative. Cruise lines aren't satisfied to rest on their laurels, and their leadership knows you have to keep pushing the envelope to provide products and services that engage their guests all the more.
Celebrity Cruises is one such innovator. In recent posts we've commented about their being one of the early adopters of utilizing solar energy onboard cruise ships, to providing a fun opportunity for guests to grill their own steaks on deck. But recently a brief notice caught my attention, about a new onboard program for kids whose aim is to address the issues of obesity, hunger, fitness and health in an educational and entertaining way. Hats off to Celebrity again! And we hope those of you with younger children and considering the best family cruise options will take note.
Celebrity has always been one of our recommended cruises for families. The cruise line offers a range of accommodation options and good spaces onboard for kids. Celebrity's style is appealing to kids of all ages. In the premium cruise category, Celebrity Cruises and Holland America offer the best family cruise vacations.
It's gutsy for a cruise line to implement programming meant to be instructional as well as fun. And the tool to do so is in this case is Nerdel, the puppet, along with his sidekick, Chef Mangel. "By teaming with NERDEL to offer unique and engaging games and activities, we are hoping to play a part in instilling wellness-focused values in children by empowering them with the knowledge they need to make better nutritional choices and take charge of their physicla fitness, from an early age." Now there's a mouthful, as well as an admirable task. And vacations, when kids are relaxed, is a great opportunity to "reach them" in fun and engaging ways.
So when it comes to cruises for families, we hope you're onboard with Nerdel as much as we are.
