Hotel Du Louvre, Paris

What a perfect location and lovely hotel. I ran late on check-in day, telephoned, and they were waiting for me. I checked in and was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a corner suite. The view looked out over the Louvre, and the room was beautiful! The large bathroom was inviting and we had a separate closet area as well. The décor is authentically French, with large tall windows, gorgeous fabrics, a nice couch and two chairs made a lovely sitting room. The wine on arrival was perfect and just what the Dr. ordered!

We went down to the Brasserie and had a delicious dinner. As this is one of our Preferred Signature hotels, my included amenities were daily breakfast and a 50euro food & beverage credit, which we used here. The Brasserie is just next to the Louvre; we each had Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfectly, nearly melteing in our mouths! Of course, there’s a good wine selection, and great service!

I just loved the neighborhood! There’s good shopping nearby and fabulous restaurants and cafes.

I walked to the Champs Elysées, where the Christmas Markets were up and running. A little mulled wine for the occasion. The shops were fun and the city felt good. The Parisians were very friendly, the air in the city was calm, and the tourist sights were well guarded (without feeling overly protected).

I know some people were concerned of me going to Paris, France. I encourage anyone considering going to go! It was great! I will go back in a heartbeat tomorrow if possible! Paris est magnifique!
