Every evening the museum hosts The Ceremony to the Sun. A phenomenal way to end a visit to Casapueblo, this grand finale includes a recording of Carlos Páez Vilaró's voice reciting a poem to his oldest friend. Visitors are recommended to arrive early to this unmissable event to ensure they secure a seat.

Carlos Páez Vilaró was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1923. A self-taught artist, Vilaró traveled the world and established his workshops across many continents, finding inspiration and his unique artistic expression from multi-culturalism and exploration.

In 1969 he returned from his extensive journeying across the globe to continue working on Casapueblo, modeled with his own hands and crafted with the help from local fishermen. His artistic mediums known no bounds and his legacy can be found captured in murals, sculptures, paintings, ceramics, the written word, and more.
