The annual Best Places to Work awards program is a joint effort of The Los Angeles Business Journal and Workforce Research Group that evaluates companies across Southern California based on employee feedback, workplace policies, and organizational culture. Companies are chosen through a program consisting of multiple parts. The first part evaluates each nominated company’s workplace experience and company culture. This first part accounts for 75% of the total evaluation. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure the company’s benefits, policies, practices and other general information. The second part of the process is worth 25% of the total evaluation. Together, the combined scores determine the top companies and the final rankings. An independent research firm named Best Companies Group (BCG) manages the entire program and analyzes the data to provide the final rankings.
