What a great trip! Everything was perfect, like clockwork.
The resort was the Best!! The private beach was beautiful, the water warm and friendly, but with the right wave action for boogie boards and swimming. The staff was so outgoing and friendly, from the head of Village, Jean-Marc, to the bartenders and group leaders, getting to know us all by name and we to them. We chatted with the head chef, John Black, who used to live in Colorado Springs.
The food was outrageous, including the buffet, with multiple seafood special items nightly. The two specialty restaurants were fun and very elegant without being stuffy. We all enjoyed the dining immensely, especially our kids. They ate nonstop. Even the inclusive liquor was name brand. I was thrilled, and shocked, that there was sailing included...14 foot Hobie cats, from the beach into the bay...which I did most days in the afternoon when the wind picked up. We took 2 excursions into Zihuatenejo for sailing/snorkeling and shopping, which were great....very authentic experiences. It was hard for us to come home (and to snow on the ground!!).
It makes me want to stop in other Club Med resorts elsewhere. Thanks for your advice and for putting it all together.
