I love to find weekend getaways. We are privileged to live in a state that's sought after as a vacation destination, and offers a number of desirable hotels and resorts to luxuriate at. So instead of staying at home, why not have a weekend getaway adventure and indulge at one of many resorts not far from home.
I had a chance to spend the weekend in Del Mar at the gorgeous L’Auberge. Del Mar is located near San Diego, and it’s where the Del Mar horse races are held. L’Auberge has everything you could want in a weekend getaway: A fabulous spa, shopping and restaurants in town, walking on the beach or spending time at the pool. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and designed in what I call a Southern California beach style, with shutters on the windows that lead out to your private balcony. The beds are divine and the bathroom is roomy. Let me not forget the cuisine at the hotel. L'Auberge has two restaurants, and a courtyard where you can watch the sunset and have cocktails. Everything I had to eat was scrumptious.
This is a 5-star property with superb service and everyone is casual. After all, sometimes you just don’t want to dress-up for dinner. You can go to any of the dining venues in slacks or nice jeans and men don’t have to wear a jacket. I like that L’Auberge has only 120 rooms, which means you are not fighting crowds to get through the lobby or struggling to find a lounge chair by the pool.
Because we're usually planning international trips for our clients, they don't often think of the convenience and added value and VIP service we can provide when arranging shorter trips closer to home. So let me know when you need your next weekend getaway!
