Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, recently, has had two notable changes. JetBlue began its nonstop, daily route from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood to St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport on Thursday, Feb. 14. United Airlines, on Monday, Feb. 4, unveiled its renovated United Club in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood is one of the quickest-growing urban areas for JetBlue, and the United Club there is now one of more than 50 United Club lounges across the globe. It is also the first of four United Club lounges to be opened in 2019. The other United Club lounges scheduled to open in 2019 are in New York City’s LaGuardia Airport, New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong International Airport, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

The new JetBlue route's consequential contribution to the tourism industry in St. Maarten is particularly notable as it assists rebuilding in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. The United Club lounge in Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport better serves United customers by providing locally inspired food and beverage options and free highspeed wi-fi.
