At TravelStore we are committed to being the best we can be, and serving discerning travelers who appreciate the value of our global connections, our expertise and our individualized service to them. Our focus on self-improvement is never ending, especially as our world continues to change at an ever faster pace, providing new challenges along the way.
We especially appreciate the value of tourism, and in supporting travel to areas of the planet that enrich our lives, and where we can enrich the lives of others. In our view, the benefits outweigh the environmental challenges, such as carbon emissions, which are being rapidly addressed by airlines and others.
We are committed to the larger world and our place in it. To that end, TravelStore is an American Society of Travel Agents Green Member, upholding the tenets of this branch of ASTA focused on sustainability and minimizing our own footprint. In this regard, TravelStore has taken steps, from minimizing the use of paper invoices and reducing photocopying needs significantly, to using washable plates and cups in lieu of disposable ones, etc.
Many of us support various organizations individually, and as a company we have raised funds to support those in need as a result of natural disasters when they’ve occurred, provide micro-financing through KIVA, engage with local organizations such as Venice Family Clinic, Providence Little Company of Mary, Desert Cancer Foundation, Second Harvest Foodbank, as well as international causes including Doctors Without Borders, Nepal Relief and others. One can never do enough for those in need; though it’s not possible to support everyone with needs. TravelStore is also sponsoring the eduction of one boy and one girl in Kenya through AmericaShare.
In light of the recent natural disasters that occured in September, 2017, from hurricanes in Texas and the Caribbean to earthquakes in Mexico, TravelStore staff has donated $15,000, matched by the company, to contribute $30,000 to Direct Relief to benefit victims and the destinations that were victims of these events. Help is needed, and we continue to focus on ways to help.
