Headed for Chile? How About Some Biking

One of our customers has a son, Ben, who has been living in Chile for the past two years and manages and operate tours for La Bicicleta Verde. They do bike tours in and around Santiago every day just like this one.

Ben helps organize their walking and biking tours in Santiago, in Casablanca Wine Valley, in Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. He lives in Valparaiso, but moves back and forth between the cities.

La Bicicleta Verde has been cruising through Santiago, Latin America´s most bike friendly city for over five years. The tours are designed for people of all ages and physical fitness levels, not professional cyclists. On top of that the tours are focused on the idiosyncrasies, culture, and the history of Chile, providing in depth and fun presentations of this long and skinny country. Guides provide extensive recommendations and expert advice, neighborhoods to explore and food and drink to try. They also have multiple Bike and Wine routes visiting some of the best wine regions in the country. The New York Times has also mentioned the company twice in articles on ways to experience Santiago.

They also have a strong operation in Valparaiso, Chile’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site City, the seaside hill city rich in history, street art and inventive cuisine. (The guy, Peter, in the video is one of the owners and lives permanently in Valparaiso.)

Our South America travel experts can arrange your trip to Chile, Argentina and Patagonia, and perhaps you’ll include some adventurous bike excursions while there.
