Luxury Hotels á la Sofitel

Sofitel is a French-based hotel brand that has gone through a reincarnation of late after having a bit of an identify crisis. Its salvation came when its parent company, Accor Hotels, set Sofitel up as an independent subsidiary unit under new leadership.

In recent years, the brand has re-tooled, dropping a number of locations that didn’t meet its luxury standards, going from over 200 properties to just 89, and re-emerging as one of the world’s leading luxury brands, with locations as diverse as Hanoi, Aswan, Cartagena and Fez, not to mention tried and true cities like Paris, Vienna and Los Angeles.

More recently, a new designer boutique brand of smaller hotels has opened as Sofitel So, with locations in Mauritius, Bangkok and Singapore.

Befitting a brand with French heritage, Sofitel also launched a French wine program this year, with carefully selected vintages specially tailored to some 23 hotels taking part in the program.

Soon to come will be exclusive pairing dinners designed to highlight each chef’s inspirations.
