Nicole's Story
Do you know the feeling when your heart is racing nonstop before a trip? When you can’t tell where nervousness ends and eagerness begins? The Swedes have a word for this: “Resfeber.” Taming this restlessness by defining and untangling the details of travel is what pulled me in the direction and showed me the door to TravelStore. It’s a passion and somewhat of an addiction.
My love for travel all started at a young age with family trips. As an American, I grew up in a small town in Germany called Buchschlag. My mother would take me to visit castles in the spring. In the winters, our family would head to the Swiss Alps to ski, and summers were spent playing on the beaches in France. I learned to appreciate the joy of spending days with friends exploring villages, skiing, or lounging on the beach. Long lunches and dinners where you would talk about your day, surrounded by family and friends, were the norm. I loved it. It seemed so effortless. As I moved on in life, I realized a lot of hard work goes into creating these moments.
After graduating from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, I pursued a career in television and film. I found myself drawn to various projects in different destinations, including Boston, St. Petersburg, Barcelona, Beijing, and Berlin. Coordinating productions and travel came naturally to me. A producer is much like a travel advisor, and I’ve learned a lot! With both, you are defining and untangling details to create an experience.
I’m so happy now to be in this position to help others with their journey. A daring adventure, lounging on the beach, or a trip to the Alps… I’m ready when you are!
