Family Vacations in Fiji

The joy and education kids get in traveling is something you can’t give them in a classroom. It enriches their life in ways you couldn’t have imagined, it connects them with people from different parts of the world, and they get to experience their culture, food and way of life.

A trip to Fiji is an excellent choice for a family vacation. I recently had the opportunity to educate myself on resorts that offer the best experiences for family vacations in Fiji. One such resort is The Outrigger Lagoon Fiji on the mainland and its sister resort The Castaway Island in the Mamanuca Islands. I have personally stayed on both these resorts and can say with absolute confidence, you will have the best vacation ever. Castaway Island resort is an adventure by itself. You take a ferry from Nadi which takes approximately 45 minutes. The rooms are all thatched bungalows which makes you feel like you are truly a castaway on a remote island. They also have the very best Pizza you will get in Fiji.

The staff at the Kids Club here are fantastic. The resort has a family pool, beach activities, scavenger hunts and parties that your kids will cry when it’s time to leave the resort. For adults, there are tons of activities such as Diving, snorkeling, island hopping and village tours.

Outrigger on the Lagoon Resort, on the mainland, is an excellent choice for families. It is approximately 1:45 minute drive from Nadi airport. This is a pretty large resort with options for family Bures or hotel rooms. I highly recommend family bures. It’s an experience and a treat to stay in one of these huts. There are plenty of activities to choose from. I highly recommend the following tours on the mainland….river kayaking, river rafting, village tours, Sunday Church service and snorkeling. The resort has an excellent kids club and it’s FREE.
