Is Cabo Family Friendly? Absolutely!

I took my baby to Mexico when he was 4 months old and it was amazing! Fast forward a couple years and another baby; traveling with my kids at first sounds wonderful, and then quickly turns into a list of all the things I would need to bring.

On my recent trip to Cabo I was pleasantly surprised by all the ways resorts are helping parents make family vacations enjoyable. If the thought of being able to let the kids play at a supervised kid’s club, while having a nice meal, a visit to the spa or just some pool or beach time sounds appealing, definitely think of Cabo as a family friendly destination – it’s not just the party town I grew up with! For those of us from California, a non-stop 3-hour flight gets you and the kids there before you know it. It’s no wonder there were four babies on my flight to Cabo from LAX!

Of course, everyone knows about kid’s clubs, but they are not all created equally. Some kid’s clubs are comprised of a few toys and a tv, while others have specially trained staff, play houses, toys, games and organized activities. My three-favorite kid friendly hotels in Cabo are the One & Only Palmilla, Grand Velas and Hyatt Ziva.

The One & Only Palmilla is a 5-Star ultra-luxury resort with all the little details attended to — including the kids. They have connecting rooms and villas to accommodate families as well as offering laundry services for children two years and under. The kid’s club here has a room with padded floors and tons of toys for the smaller kids, a big screen tv with lounging sofas to watch movies and a huge treehouse play ground to climb and explore.

Grand Velas is an all–inclusive, 5-Star resort that has family suites that include a baby concierge. They include all the kid’s amenities, basically everything you need from bottle sterilizers, cribs, baby swings, strollers to training potty chairs. When they say family friendly they mean it!

The Kids’ Club program at Grand Velas lets kids play and explore under the supervision of trained staff. Kids learn how to make piñatas, masks and kites, they also enjoy stories told by the energetic staff. Right below the Kids’ Club is the splash area, wading pool and covered playground. The Kids’ Club is exclusively for kids 4- to 12-years old.

Hyatt Ziva, a 4-Diamond all-inclusive resort, is also a great choice for families. They have an outdoor sanded playground which includes a jungle gym, motorized mini cars, and tricycles.

Next to the kid’s club is a mini waterpark in shallow water for the little ones to enjoy.

Traveling with young children is certainly no cake-walk. Let us help you ease the challenges.
