My awakening to this perspective came during a family trip to Costa Rica, where my 13-year-old kids and I organized an event at a local school. We taught art, played educational games, and provided school supplies and lunch. The excitement and gratitude of the Costa Rican children left a profound impact. As my son eloquently put it, “that’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
