Cruise Review: Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is one of the best family cruise vacations. They offer something for everyone, from a themed pirate night to a Disney character’s breakfast. The Disney Wonder is just like Disneyland, expect without the rides. From the decorations in the staterooms to the hand railings on the staircases, Mickey was everywhere.

Disney Cruises has many different cuisine venues onboard from which to choose. By the pool area there’s Goofy’s Galley & Pluto’s Dog House Snack Bar, serving up hot & cold sandwiches, fresh fruit, salads and favorite BBQ foods such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, and bratwursts. Overall, my best dining experiences were in the three main dining rooms. The food, dining staff and atmosphere is incredible. And even more clever for a luxury cruise ship, guests alternate dining rooms every night. Each evening provided a different dining ambiance, though your waiters move with you to each dining room.

This was the most memorable dining experience I have ever had on board a cruise ship.

As one might expect, Disney Cruise offers a wonderful children’s and teen’s program onboard, including computer labs, sports deck area, arcade, play area with slides and teen disco. In addition you have an inside and outdoor movie theater showing the latest Disney Movies for adults, teens and children. There are also two kids pools and one with a Mickey waterslide too.

Of course, providing the best family cruise means looking after the adults, too. Disney Cruise Line ships have adult-only areas, such as Route 66, which includes a lounge, sports bar and disco. There is no casino onboard, but throughout your cruise bingo is available with cash prizes. Finally, there’s an adults-only restaurant called Polo’s (an additional cover charge applies).

One can’t think about a Disney vacation without entertainment. The wonderful Broadway musical shows onboard were memorable. From the Golden Mickey’s to Toy Story, the musicals were dazzling, entertaining and exciting, and something the whole family can enjoy.

My overall experience onboard this luxury cruise ship was magnificent, and unlike any other cruise ship experience. If you love Disney, and if your children love Disney, then these are cruises for families you won’t want to miss out on, particularly with a Disney ship on the west coast!

If you’ve enjoyed a Disney cruise vacation, we invite you to share your experiences!
