Newest Luxury Property in Cabo San Lucas: Capella Pedregal

Just spent 3 fabulous days at the new Capella Pedregal in Cabo San Lucas! What a cool hideaway this is! The property officially opened last Monday and is quite special. It’s close to the tip of Baja on the Pacific side in a dramatically different setting accessible only by private tunnel lit by torches and chandeliers at night. At the end of the tunnel is a large fire pit in the center of the port couchere which makes for a stunning entrance.

The service among all else is 5-star plus and the smiles from housekeeping staff to management are sincerely warm and welcoming. Food is wonderful. Wine and tequila list extensive. And soon they will open the first fish and seafood outdoor market style restaurant in Cabo (on property), flanked between the mountain and sea.

The spa is one of the most unique I have seen yet with treatments based solely on the waxing and waning of the moon. And it is aesthetically one of the most spectacular designs I have witnessed with a pre-treatment foot ritual center and massage and body suites all with private exits to a salt water soaking pool.

Although this property is making its debut now, I feel they’ve already “”got it”” in terms of knowing how to please guests and implementing it every step of the way.

Let me know if you’d like more info. I’m happy to go back if I’ve missed anything!

Since we published this, the resort has been rebranded as a Waldorf Astoria resort as The Resort at Pedregal.
