The Westin, Cabo San Lucas

The Westin in Cabo San Lucas seems like a massive brown, orange, yellow and pink construction in the corridor. No real atmosphere, pretty plain and cold, though some may like its starkness. Westin time shares are adjacent to the hotel complex. The guest mix here would be mostly families and couples.

There are a 243 rooms and 14 suites, all ocean/partial ocean view with balcony. Some rooms can be interconnected. No resort fee and free parking. Wireless internet throughout the property and wired in the rooms for $20 per day. Business center available on property. Last major renovations in 2005 & 2007. While we were visiting the pool area was under construction, but it is supposed to be finished by now (make sure to double check since it looked as if it might take longer). Total of six pools, one jacuzzi and swim-up bar. One pool is for adults only, all others for families. There is no kids-only pool. Beach is apparently swimmable sometimes, but it is not recommended.

The Westin has five restaurants (fine dining and buffet) as well as five bars. There’s a spa, a gym (no classes, but a personal trainer is available at additional cost) and a beauty salon. The children’s program is complimentary and open from 9am – 5pm. Golf is offered at preferred rates through Palmilla.
