London’s Fleming Hotel in Mayfair

When traveling long distances to destinations like Africa, I have found it works best to spend at least two nights in Europe to catch-up to the time change and break up the long journey. Then, when I arrive in Africa, I am on their time zone and ready for my adventure.

On this year’s visit to Africa I stopped in London, one of my favorite European cities. I chose to stay at the 4-Star Flemings Hotel, in the posh Mayfair district, because I have had clients stay there and I like the location. It is near Green Park, just blocks from Piccadilly Circus and a three-minute walk to Shepherd Market, which has fun restaurants and pubs. The hotel is part of our Signature Hotels & Resorts program.

The Fleming has a number of junior suites along with apartments, which are great for families. I had a spacious junior suite, with a generous king-size bed. Breakfast is included in our company’s special Signature rate, and I found the breakfast to be good, except for the eggs.

But that is the British for you — they just can’t seem to make good scrambled eggs!

What stands out at this hotel is the staff. They make you feel at home, accommodate you in every way possible, and are much friendlier than other hotels staff I have stayed at in London. Based on that alone it is worth recommending.
