Julia's Story
I traveled many years as a teenager and young adult with my family. My solo experience in travel first began when I went to work on a cruise ship. We sailed from Miami to Nassau every 3 and 4 days for 6 months until the ship ended. After having my children, the travel bug in me came back. I became a travel advisor in 1994 and have never stopped.
I recently went to South Africa on a safari with the excitement of having an elephant charge our safari jeep. Our driver quickly backed up the vehicle and we were safe. This is one reason it is so important to use a travel advisor to book reputable companies.
Since working on a ship, I enjoy booking cruises all over the world. Something I particularly like about cruises are that you only unpack once. No need to pack up your bags to move to another hotel, the hotel stays with you as you travel from country to country. Also, the ships have something for everyone so it’s a great option for families.
I will say traveling to the Galapagos was one of my most memorable experiences due to the ship catching on fire! Don’t worry, everyone was safe, though we did have to stay put for 4 days. Turns out the fire burned the engines and we had to be towed back to land. What an adventure!
