Julia's Story
My travel story began by traveling many years as a teenager and young adult with my family. My first professional experience in travel began when I went to work on a cruise ship. We sailed back and forth from Miami to Nassau every 3 to 4 days for 6 months. After having my children, the travel bug in me woke back up and bit me again – I became a travel advisor in 1994 and have never stopped.
Some of my recent adventures include a safari to South Africa. It was there I experienced the excitement of having an elephant charge our safari jeep! Our driver quickly reversed the vehicle, put space between us and the magnificent animal, and we were safe again. Traveling to the Galapagos was another one of my most memorable experiences… not just for the amazing sights and unique animals, but because the ship caught on fire! Don’t worry, I make it sound more dramatic than it was and everyone was safe. As it turns out, the fire had burned out the engines so we had to stay docked in one place for four days until we were towed back to land. What an adventure!
