Julia's Story
Travel has always been a kind of medicine for me. Whenever I’ve felt like something was missing, a trip has helped me reset and reconnect. Travel has a beautiful way of expanding our perspectives. I think it is a great way to experience something bigger than oneself and remind us that there are other ways to be. I love to help others plan trips; it’s not just about booking flights and hotels, it’s about crafting something meaningful and memorable. I truly enjoy getting to know what makes each traveler light up—whether that’s immersive cultural experiences, food adventures, scenic landscapes, or a mix of everything. Helping people discover something they didn’t even know they were craving, and being part of memories they’ll talk about for years, is such a rewarding feeling.
I’ve been consistently traveling since 2010 with my first international trip to Spain in 2013. It will always hold a special place in my heart, it is simply one of the most beautiful countries I’ve been to. People are so friendly and the culture is so enriching. The architecture is astounding from the gothic quarters to the art nouveau styles of Gaudí in Barcelona, to the classic neoclassical/renaissance styles of Madrid, to the Moorish influences in Sevilla. It’s all preserved well and tells the history of Spain which I really felt when I was there.
I cannot specifically nail down the best meal I’ve ever eaten due to the range of flavors from all over the world. I can think of several memorable ones, the most recent in Bordeaux, France. I started with a fresh salmon tartare with citrusy onions over a bed of sliced cucumbers and slices of the most delectable baguette. The main course is the duck confit with “fall-off-the-bone” juiciest duck meat I’ve ever eaten, the skin was crisped to perfection. It was served with a side of buttery, scalloped mashed potatoes and the freshest baby spinach. The French really know how to balance a meal and not make it sit heavy in ones stomach. For dessert, I had a pistachio financier with freshly whipped cream and fresh real strawberry syrup drizzled on top. It was to die for, the French really know how to make desserts. Of course when in Bordeaux, one must partake in a local red with the meal and it was simply amazing all together!
