La Villa Maillot in Paris

In a lovely neighborhood in the 16^th arrondissement of Paris France is the lovely La Villa Maillot Hotel and Spa, situated in the heart of the city, close to the Arc de Triomphe and just 10 minutes from the Champs Elysees.

In the 18^th century this hotel was a villa, now a desirable boutique hotel with the Preferred Hotel group. The recent refurbishment is obvious with its style — a mix of contemporary and classic French. There are 42 rooms and suites. Large rooms and the king sized bed is just to die for! I jumped into this bed and the softness of the sheets and the fluffiness of the pillows had me asleep in moments! A lovely Japanese garden is within its walls and a nice daily breakfast is served. The welcoming Concierge, Patrick, has been with this hotel for 25 years!

What a wonderful time we had at the hotel. I checked in with my dear friend, Linda Lee Hopkins, who now lives in Paris- a beautiful singer. With Linda’s arrival, Patrick sent Marta from the front desk to search for her music. She found it and they put her music on the hotel’s sound system in the lobby and the bar! All of a sudden Linda said, “Hey that’s me on the music system! What a warm welcome! A true sense of arrival!”

We had a lovely glass of wine with our hostess Nodira. She is very well informed and a true professional. We had a great visit, and Nodira clued me in about the refurbishment that had taken place. Some hors d’ oeuvres and wine together preceded an evening out on the town.

A warm welcome, a beautiful room, a great neighborhood: viva, La Villa Maillot!
