Wine has been made in Chile since the 16th century, and today its wines are becoming recognized worldwide for their exceptional quality and a focus on sustainability, perhaps anchored by Matetic, Chile’s first biodynamic winery. A number of wineries are readily available by car between Santiago and Valparaiso, and a few, like Matetic offer overnight accommodations and have a restaurant on premises.
