This camp in Chiang Mai focuses on elderly elephants, mostly retired who are unable to work and living out their days here. While the highlight is dressing up in provided clothing and walking elephants down to Maesa Stream to bathe them, it is also special to learn about the relationship each elephant has with their mahoot and how paper is made from elephant poop.
