Q'eswachaka Rope Bridge
Cusco, Peru

Crossing the Apurimac River near Cusco, the Q’eswachaka is a rope bridge made of braided grass that’s 92-feet long. It is part of the Qhapaq Ñan road network, “Great Inca Trail”, which is more than 37,250 miles long, and has survived 500 years because of an annual June ceremony during which the bridge is renewed by local Quechua communities.
