Alaska is a land of great experiences, but none quite matches that of watching brown bears feed on salmon in a remote wilderness stream. This adventure is all about giving you that experience in a day trip to a pristine lake, with a small, comfortable wilderness lodge to serve as home base. To start, your private driver will transfer you from the Seward Cruise Terminal to Lake Hood, America’s largest floatplane base. From there, you will fly 50 minutes across Cook Inlet to the Redoubt Bay Bear Sanctuary. After lunch at the Redoubt Bay Lodge, you’ll spend three hours in a boat viewing bears at any one of five salmon spawning streams accessible by boat from the lodge. This is one of the safest and most comfortable ways to view bears up close. You will return to Anchorage by floatplane in the early evening, arriving at about 7:00pm Your driver/guide will transfer you the short distance from Lake Hood to the terminal for your outbound flight, or to your Anchorage hotel.
Note: This tour is also available in the reverse.

Your tour begins at the Salmon Berry office or the front steps of your hotel. Then it’s off to the historic Port of Anchorage and Ship Creek area where our city was born. Here you’ll learn about Anchorage’s colorful pioneer history, our early tent city, what life was like here before the age
of modern conveniences and how Anchorage got it’s name.

Next we’ll take a drive through the Lake Hood airport: the busiest
seaplane base in the world - you may see some of Alaska’s finest bush pilots splashland or take to the sky outbound for nearby wilderness areas. The Chugach Mountains are our last and finest stop. Here you’ll
experience Anchorage from the place locals go for stunning vistas and beautiful sunsets. This scenic overlook is home to many Alaskan animals including our favorite, here at Salmon Berry Tours, Alces alces gigas,
