Morning Hidden Hanoi
Morning Hidden Hanoi

Destination: Hanoi, Vietnam
Duration: 4.5 hours

Transfer from your hotel to our meeting point where you and your tour guide will explore the little alleys and discover the daily lives of locals.

First stop at vintage coffee shop, where you sit on very small chairs as is the special style of Hanoi, to start a day by tasting a cup of Vietnamese coffee. This also offers a perfect opportunity for people-watching, to get a better idea of the daily activities of the locals. After that, we make our way through a small alley which is just big enough to fit through, so be sure to bring your camera along to capture the unique experience.

Pass Hanoi Church to see a highlight of the regal architecture of Hanoi. Moving on from the busy street, you get to Nha Chung alley, where the morning is always the busiest time at this corner with several vendors of food or vegetables gather for sale.

Going up an old wooden staircase to the second floor of old French house, is where you will meet a local who has a strong attachment to this house. Engage with him to discover more about the change of people, life and thoughts on the future of this remarkably old city. Finish this tour by having lunch at a vintage Vietnamese restaurant decked out in 70’s décor that will take you back in time to a post-liberated Hanoi.

A Day as a Hanoian

Destination: Hanoi, Vietnam
Duration: 5 hours

Today’s tour guide will take you to the “standing newspaper” where you can have an interesting explanation from the guide, which is a fascinating story about the poor period of the Hanoians when they bought newspapers as a luxury. Then stop at a local coffee shop to watch and listen to the sounds of daily life in the Old Quarter before transferring to Gioi Market – the corner where thousands of trade goods are sold, from the smallest such as nails and batteries to large items such as motors, electronic goods and refrigeration equipment. You will be surprised at how many little stores are in the middle of the street, and the difficulty for motorbikes to wind through the tiny streets. Continue your exploration by driving to the rail station in a Hanoi suburb to catch a local train back to the center. Disembark from the train after 10 minutes passing the first French bridge over the Red River, following the guide, you will walk along the tracks, pass "cuisine street" where you can find many tasty dishes before stopping at "Zo Paper Project" – where young and active Vietnamese people creat new values on the Traditional Paper.
